- Lia Montes is a pseudonym under which I write. In the neighborhood I grew up in, you either became a teacher or a hooker. Just in case I needed it, I adopted a hooker name at the age of 9. Needless to say, I didn't need it for the particular reason it was thought of, but one doesn't know when one will need a pseudonym, does one!? I say, if it's good enough for Mark Twain, it's good enough for me! I am a foreign born American who is proud to be an American. My parents immigrated to this country with little material things but with a lot of hope and strength. They gave me the opportunity for a tremendous education and the realization that I could be the person I want to be. I, in turn, intend to give my child and my grandchildren that same opportunity. You can go as far as your imagination will take you!
